The Miro' name has always been associated with art and I take pride in the family name with my own special style and diversity. I was born in June 1958 in Havana Cuba. I arrived in Miami in 1961 before my 3rd birthday. I was very quiet as a child, which attributed to my seeing the world differently than most. I believe this has blossomed my creativity. My father, Jorge F. Miro, was an architect. He nurtured my love of design and creating. I married my soul mate Katherine in July 1982-The End of Time!
I started experimenting with painting on canvas. Out of necessity, I invented a tea light holder for viewing my evening paintings by low heat tea candles. This sparked my love for creating unusual art out of antiques, reclaimed furniture and wood. I carve, paint and burn on multiple medium, trying to bring out the hidden beauty I see in things.
I sign all works with my maker's mark, III, representing the M for Miro. It's three lines also signify myself, my beloved wife, and my beautiful daughter. So the III represents my Family- My Life. My work can be found throughout the United States and Europe.
